Femcare is a clotrimazole based medication used for treating Vaginal Yeast infections. It is an antifungal that helps reduce vaginal burning, itching and discharge that usually occurs in a vaginal yeast infection.
How does it work?
Femcare is an antifungal that stops the growth of yeast in the vagina. It is only effective in treating fungal infections.
Taking Femcare & the right dosage
Femcare comes in two different forms. One is a tablet and the other is a vaginal cream.
The tablet must be used once before bedtime.
Use the patient information booklet to know how to apply the cream or use the vaginal tablet correctly.
You must use Femcare for the complete duration of treatment. Your symptoms may reduce. But you should continue using it.
Other vaginal products like tampons, douches etc must be avoided while using Femcare.
Storage
Store Femcare in a cool and dark place at room temperature. Do not store it in a place where it can get exposed to direct sunlight or moisture.
Keep it away from children and pets.
Safety Information/ Warning Precautions
Before using Femcare, you should consult a physician and discuss about your medical history.
Do not use Femcare if:
You are allergic to Azole Antifungals
You have other allergies
Femcare may not be suitable for you if:
You have diabetes
You have immune system disorders like HIV
You have frequent vaginal yeast infections
Drug Interactions
Femcare may interact with some medications. So if you are using any prescription, non prescription, OTC medicines or dietary supplements, then inform your physician in advance before you use Femcare.
Pregnancy Information
Femcare is not known to harm an unborn baby.
Side Effects
The most common side effects of Femcare are:
Vaginal/urethral burning/itching/pain, or lower abdominal cramps.
These side effects usually subside by themselves in sometime as the body gets used to Femcare.
Some uncommon but potentially dangerous side effects are:
Serious allergic reaction with symptoms like rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, trouble breathing.
You should see a doctor immediately if one of these side effects occur.
